What is changing?
Visa and Mastercard will cap consumer interregional interchange fees for EEA-based merchants for a duration of five years and six months. This will affect transactions involving consumer cards issued outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) that occur with merchants located in the EEA.
What does the change mean?
See the table below for the new rates:
|Fee Type||Consumer Debit||Consumer Credit|
How will this affect you?
The impact depends on the pricing model. The above rates will be passed on directly to merchants with IC+ and IC++ pricing models.
